How to Show Up on LinkedIn in 2025- Your No-Nonsense Guide

You can stand out for the right reasons on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is the place for professionals. But are you really tapping into it’s full potential?

Whether you’re a seasoned thought leader or just starting your journey, showing up on LinkedIn the right way can make all the difference.

Let’s unpack what ‘showing up’ looks like in 2025 and how you can level up your LinkedIn game.

1. Be Intentional with Engagement
Don’t just scroll and lurk! Showing up means showing up for others too. Thoughtful comments, engaging with questions, and joining conversations are where real connections happen.

If you want to be seen, start by commenting and adding your expertise to conversations already happening.

2. Make your profile work for you – set it up to sell
Your profile isn’t just an online resume; it’s your personal brand’s first impression. Keep it current, make that banner space work for you (hello, latest offers!), and sprinkle keywords in your headline and summary. Complete every section—don’t leave opportunities on the table.

3. Consistency Wins (Not Daily Posting)
Forget the daily posting stress. The goal is consistency. Aim for 2-3 quality posts a week. With LinkedIn’s long tail your content keeps working even days later. Quality > quantity, always.

4. Get Personal (Yes, Even Here)
Overly stiff and corporate? Nah. People connect with people, not perfect profiles. Share your wins, lessons, behind-the-scenes moments—be real.
Show us as your true quirky self and the right people will find you. Better to repel red flag clients than find out later on hey?

5. Analytics: Your Secret Weapon
Not sure if your content is hitting the mark? Dive into LinkedIn’s analytics.
Track impressions, engagement rates, and profile views to get a clear read on what’s working. Do more of that!
Use that data to tweak, refine, and double down on content that connects.

What’s in Store for LinkedIn in 2025?

Like everything, LinkedIn is going through it’s own evolution. Here’s what I’m seeing.

1. Video Isn’t Just a Trend—It’s the Norm

Video content isn’t going anywhere, and in 2025, it’s going to be the standard. Think short, portrait-style videos that pack a punch—quick, authentic, and relatable. Time to get comfortable in front of the camera!

2. Thought Leadership Goes Deep

While quick takes and sound bites have their place, long-form, in-depth content will shine even brighter. As AI fills social media with surface-level content, people will crave real, valuable insights. Make your articles, newsletters, and detailed posts your standouts.

3. Smarter AI, but Don’t Rely On It

LinkedIn’s AI tools will be better than ever in 2025, offering insights, connection suggestions, and personalised content recommendations. But here’s the thing: AI is a great tool—not a replacement. Have you ever tried their AI – woeful. Use AI to support your strategy, but keep the focus on genuine human interactions. AI can point you in the right direction, but only you can build authentic connections. You wouldn’t send a bot to a real life networking event would you?

4. Speak to Clients – keep them at the centre

Cutting through the noise will mean hyper-personalisation. Tailored content that feels like a one-on-one chat will resonate more. Address your audience directly—whether it’s by role, industry, or individual—to make them feel seen.

5. Community Is Where the Magic Happens

LinkedIn groups have made a bit of a comeback back, and it’s not just a passing phase. Niche communities will be where trust is built and influence grows. Whether you join or create your own, these circles will be your place to lead and connect deeply.
