Content repurposing is on my mind. I’m deep in holiday planning mode while I write this article, feeling pressured to have next month’s content sorted and everything done before I go.

But thinking about new ideas feels hard today. Maybe it feels that way for you too sometimes.

Then I remembered content repurposing and how I already had a bunch of ideas sitting there. I simply had to rejig them in different ways.  Time to let you in on the secret.

So here’s a quick guide to how you can repurpose content, sticking to a travel theme to help you get your head around making the most of your ideas…

Today, we’re embarking on a journey to unlock the hidden potential of your content.

Get ready to discover the art of content repurposing and learn how to optimise the reach of your brilliant ideas.

Imagine this: You have a fantastic idea, a spark of brilliance that sets your creative gears in motion. You pour your heart and soul into crafting a masterpiece—a blog post that will captivate readers to devour every word and inspire them to take action.

But once it’s out there, what’s next?

A: Do you wipe your hands off it thinking, great – my idea is done, good job?
or
B: Do you rate your idea so highly that you want more and more people to see it?

Obviously, it’s answer B!

Don’t let your creation fade into the abyss of the internet and social media.

Let’s squeeze life into it and extend its reach and appeal. Unleash the power of content repurposing and give your content a new lease on life and your clients different ways to consume information.

The power of content repurposing: Turn one article into 10 types of content.

The Visual Feast:

Take your central idea and transform it into an eye-catching infographic. Condense your key points into visually appealing graphics and create a shareable masterpiece that grabs attention and sparks curiosity. Think infographic that tells a story or a carousel that summarises the points.

The Social Media Medley:

Slice and dice your content into bite-sized pieces to create engaging social media posts. Each post can highlight a key point, an intriguing quote, or a fascinating statistic. Spread them across your favourite social platforms to attract new readers and drive traffic back to your website. Most blogs will have a main theme and at least three points that back up the argument.

The Slideshow Spectacle:

Transform your blog post into a dynamic slideshow presentation. Each slide can showcase a crucial aspect of your central idea, accompanied by engaging visuals and concise bullet points. This repurposed content is perfect for sharing in webinars, workshops, or even on SlideShare.

The Podcast Adventure:

Take your readers on an audio journey by converting your blog post into a captivating podcast episode. Add some personality, share personal anecdotes, and dive deeper into the topic. Now, your audience can listen and learn while on the go. Don’t have your own podcast? Then pitch it as an idea for a guest appearance.

The Video Showcase:

Bring your central idea to life through an engaging video. Use animations, screen recordings, or even record yourself presenting the key points. With videos being highly shareable, this repurposed content has the potential to reach a whole new audience. You don’t have to spend a bomb either – use Canva or create a quick reel.

The Newsletter Delight:

Craft a compelling newsletter by repackaging your blog post's key insights. Summarise the main points, sprinkle in some additional tips, and personalise them for your subscribers. It's a fantastic way to provide value and keep your audience engaged. I often repurpose my newsletter intro and create a post around it.

The Guest Post Extravaganza:

Share your expertise with a wider audience by repurposing your content into a guest post for another website or blog. Tailor it to fit the host's audience while adding fresh insights or expanding on a specific aspect of your central idea. It's a win-win, allowing you to reach new readers and build valuable connections. Remember to match your idea to the audience. The more personal, relatable stories they can connect to the better.

The Webinar Showcase:

Elevate your content by hosting a webinar around your blog post's central idea. Expand on the key points, provide in-depth examples, and interact with your audience through live Q&A sessions. It's an excellent opportunity to establish yourself as an authority and engage with your community.

The Visual Quotes Showcase:

Extract the most compelling quotes from your blog post and turn them into images. Share them on social media, incorporate them into your website, or use them as part of your email marketing campaigns. If they are good quotes, they will resonate and generate conversation.

The Comprehensive Guide:

Combine the essence of your blog post, additional insights, and practical tips into a comprehensive guide or e-book. This repurposed content not only establishes your expertise but also serves as a valuable resource for your audience. It's a powerful way to gather email addresses and provide a more in-depth exploration of your central idea.
